Portrait Painting Workshop with Phil White

Champney Treasure House

Education Room, First Floor

Portrait painting is one of the biggest challenges that any artist can undertake but also one of the most rewarding.

In this workshop, experienced painter and tutor, Phil White will guide you through a set of techniques to help improve your portraiture skills. Amongst the things he will focus on are how the use of light and angles can make capturing a likeness easier, as well as how to mix realistic skin tones. "Even just simple measuring and a knowledge of anatomy can help grow your confidence", says Phil.

For beginners to more experienced artists.

Please bring along:

  • up to 6 printed out photos, or images on a tablet device, of the person you would like to paint.
